Status: Definitive and executive design phase - ongoing

The intervention is situated in a reclaimed area, once contaminated by asbestos from the now-demolished Fibronit plant. The title Parco Rinascita means regeneration, a process necessary not only from a design perspective but also as cultural memory and reappropriation of this space, to give a new face to the entire Park as a manifesto of rebirth for the community.

The design enhance the orography of reclamation and the scars of the earth are healed with new paths and places for people: new urban forests are born to increase biodiversity, botanical pathways and collections of blooms and plants. The pathways allow for experiencing the park in complete safety and without architectural barriers, exploring a mix of activities and dedicated spaces not only for socializing but also for culture. Playground areas, for all ages, are nestled into the landscape and the M.Maugeri Amphitheatre becomes the heart of the park.

Along the main path a series of squares will create new polarities, each one with a different function and strongly characterized in a unique way. There will also be two equipped sports areas (basketball and bocce courts) and a multifunctional playground for wheeled sports.
