The redevelopment of the area adjacent to the Dopolavoro in Cassano d’Adda is within the broader plan of redevelopment of the Adda Nord Park already started with EXPO 2015. The recovery of the ‘Giardino del Passeggio’ is the first step to establish the guidelines for Leonardo Eco-museum’s future interventions, to start the redevelopment of the Linificio Canapificio Nazionale and to allow growth of the urban, social and economic environment of the city.

The project followed regular interventions with the specific purpose of rapidly improving the park and its fruition. The gate to Leonardo’s Eco-museum as a point of access to two important historical-cultural paths: the river “Adda” to Lecco and the “Naviglio della Martesana” to Milano. The info point is made of natural and handmade bricks. The south gate of the park has been redeveloped with the original materials and with a square and a continuous bench with traditional materials (concrete and bricks). Flooring has been renovated with local natural material also in the parking area, to give a sense of continuity with the park. Finally, the redevelopment of the vegetation areas has the objective of adding value to the landscape, creating a pleasant place where someone can enjoy the Lombardia typical sceneries.
